My name is Mary, or better known as "Mare" in some circles.
I live in Minnesota, the state with many lakes and weather extremes. It is a fact that I have been horse-crazy as far back as I can remember. Another love of mine has always been skiing. With this dual love fascination, I had this dream to merge the two to participate in Equine Skijoring – the driving style of skijoring – with my beautiful Shire Quarter Horse mare named Zena.
This was a fabulous idea for us, because I had several recommendations that Zena should no longer be “ridden” due to some physical limitations. However, Zena still needed to be exercised and since Ski Driving does not require a rider on the horse, it was my future goal to Ski Drive with her.
I tried to find Ski Driving gear to purchase, but I couldn’t find any gear that appeared particularly safe, and it seemed to be cumbersome. Basically, Ski Driving gear was absent from the marketplace. So, this was when I started trials of my own designs. Starting in 2017 to present, each winter season has been an opportunity to enhance and improve the gear that I had envisioned.
I am proud to say that after eight years of research and development, that I now have the best Ski Driving gear system on the market. This top quality, complete Ski Driving system has a reining feature that is unique to us. It is user friendly and intuitive to manage.
